Outreach Opportunities

In addition to education, worship and fellowship, Trinity Church and its members give to the community in many ways.  In addition to the information found in "Little Known Facts",  Trinity Church . . . .

  • donates to the United Thank Offering, Episcopal Relief & Development and the West Fourth Ministerium

  • has a Christmas Angel Tree supported by Lycoming County Children & Youth
  • participates in the Thanksgiving Food Basket Program
  • purchases "Forward Day by Day" booklets for the Shepherd of the Streets to make available to those in need

  • has baskets for accepting donations to the Food Pantry, Shepherd of the Streets,  and American Rescue Workers.  These collection baskets are located in the Parish Hall

United Churches Food Pantry  continues to provide a three-day emergency supply of food to people in need.  In 2005 they assisted 2.357 households for a total of 5,122 people.  They need donations of non-perishable food items. They especially need Hamburger and Tuna Helper, canned meats and stews, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, cake mixes, Jell-O, pudding, ketchup and mustard, spaghetti sauce, noodles, canned fruit, sugar, powered drink mixes, coffee and tea, saltines, Oodles of Noodles and Easy Mac.

Shepherd of the Streets is in need of hygiene and household items. Currently they need deodorant, soap, tissues, toilet paper, paper towels, combs, diapers, Q-tips, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shaving cream, razors, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, women's hygiene items, towels, washcloths, baby shampoo, powder, oil and baby wipes. They also need sheets, blankets and pillowcases in all sizes in good condition and Bibles in good condition.

American Rescue Workers   Bring in your new or used shoes, sandals, sneakers, boots and slippers and fill up the Shoe Barrel.
