TRINITY IS MORE THAN A CHURCH - IT IS A FAMILY.

Join us as we gather in fellowship at: Coffee Hour following the later Sunday service; Newcomer Receptions that allow people new to Trinity to meet other parishioners in a relaxed setting; Socials that are just for fun; Lasagna Dinners; Golf Tournament; Monster Yard Sale; Strawberry Fest; and much more!

Trinity T-Shirts  Outreach is selling Trinity T-Shirts.  They are $10 per shirt and are 100% preshrunk cotton.  Sizing info and order sign-ups are in the Parish Hall.  Or see Mary Ann Novak after the 8:00 service, and Abby Walker after the 9:30 service.  Thank you for your support!

Join in Song -  We have an exciting year ahead of us with  an Evensong service on October 25th, and a new special Advent Lessons and Carols service on December 20th.   All are invited to sing with the choir, whether you are a regular singer or have always wanted to try but never taken the opportunity.    Rehearsals are Thursday nights, 7 - 8:30.  Come lift your voice in praise!

New Service Times this Fall Beginning September 20 through the end of the year our worship service times will be at 8:00 and 10:00 (instead of 10:30). Education for all ages will begin at 9:00. This change is temporary at this time. Hopefully an earlier time will allow more families with kids in sporting events to attend the second service and allow our senior citizens at retirement facilities to get back in time for their lunch.

Dinner Groups - Liz Yoder is heading up this new fellowship activity. These are informal agenda-less groups of up to four households (or eight adults, plus children) to get together for a meal once a month or as often as the individual group decides. One person in each group will organize the first meeting time so that one household brings a dessert, one a salad, one a side dish, and the host usually provides the main dish and drinks. It’s easy to do and will help us get to know each other better! Please sign up in the Parish Hall or outside the Chapel

CROP Walk Update - The walkers from Trinity were able to raise $890 thanks to all of your generous contributions!  It was a beautiful day for walking. We had 15 walkers (plus 3 dogs) and walked six miles. Special congratulations go to Alexis Anstey for gathering the most contributions.  Thanks again from the youth of Trinity for supporting this worthy cause!

A Children’s Coat Drive will be held in conjunction with All Saints Episcopal for children from Williamsport Area School District.  We are asking for donations of new or gently worn coats for elementary age children.  A receptacle will be located near the outreach cubbies.  Any questions, please contact Abby Walker at 323-4917 or rwalker_145@comcast.net.

  November

On All Saints Day, November 1, the children will make shields of the saints and present them in church. Hopefully we will have a baptism on this day. On All Saints’ Sunday we also honor the lives of those who have preceded us into Glory. Please return this form or email the list of names to trinitychurchpa@comcast.net by October 25. The names will be listed in the November 1 bulletin.

Fall UTO In gathering - Mark your calendar and begin collecting coins and bills for the Fall United Thank Offering Ingathering to be held on Sunday, November 1.

First Sunday Luncheons have been a great fellowship event for church members. The next First Sunday Luncheon is scheduled for November 1st and will be chaired by the Hospitality Committee. There will be no First Sunday Luncheon in December or January due to the holidays. We need volunteers to chair the luncheons in February, March and May if we wish to continue them in 2010.

Safeguarding God’s Children - Training will be held at Trinity on Saturday, November 7 from 9 AM to 3 PM . This program in sexual abuse awareness is offered by the diocese and is required for all clergy, staff and youth and Sunday School leaders. Vestry members, nursery workers and teachers are urged to attend as well. The cost is $5 and includes lunch and materials. Please email or call the church office by Nov. 2 to register.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets…Trinity plans to participate again this year in raising funds for Shepherd of the Streets Thanksgiving Food Baskets. $30 will supply a complete meal for one family.  Special envelopes are available in the Main Church and Chapel.  Make checks payable to Trinity Church and return by November 8.  If you don’t have an envelope, just mark “Food Basket” on your check. Food items to supplement the basic package for larger families and to provide post-holiday meals are also needed.

Christmas decorating will be held on November 15 after the second service. Talk with Linda Lynn if you can help.

A Victorian Soup Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 21 from 11 AM to 2 PM. Cost is $7.50 and includes soup, bread, beverage and dessert. Three soups will be offered – Clam Chowder, Ham & Bean and Chicken Tortilla. Please sign up in the Parish Hall for donations of food items, help making the soup and help the day of the event. Any questions – contact Delores Loner.

  May 2010

Alaska Cruise Fundraiser  Register now for an 11-night Cruise to the Alaskan Wilderness on the “Island Princess” on May 30 - June 11, 2010. If enough people from Trinity register for the cruise, funds will be awarded to Trinity. More details are available on the bulletin board and in "The Chimes" section of this website.
