Bishop Baxter chose Trinity Episcopal Church in Williamsport,
Pennsylvania to be his Minster Church. A Minster Church is the
symbol and center of
the Bishop's pastoral, liturgical, and teaching ministry in the northern
part of his diocese. The welcoming took place on November 5, 2006
at Trinity. The ceremony was attended by about 235 people and
consisted of ministers of various denominations, city officials and
parishioners from northern Episcopal churches. Following his
welcoming to the north, Bishop Baxter delivered a Homily. The
remainder of the evening included a parishioner giving Bishop Baxter a
handcrafted wooden cross as a welcoming to his Minster Church, an
Evensong sung by a choir made up from several Episcopal Churches, and a
supper.
